The Government Engineering College (GEC) Bhojpur, is a government engineering college established in 2019 by the Bihar Government under the Department of Science and Technology (presently known as the Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education) situated in heart of the city Arrah, Bhojpur, near the renowned Maharaja College, South-East Ramna Maidan, the college was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Kumar, and falls under the “Saat Nishchay Yojna” of the Bihar Government. Currently, the college is successfully running in its permanent campus from October’23. The primary objective behind its establishment is to address the growing technical demands in society.

Affiliated to Bihar Engineering University Patna, the college offers courses approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in various branches of engineering. Currently, the total intake stands at 360 students, distributed across branches such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Communication with an intake of 60 students each, Computer Science and Engineering (with specializations in Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning) with an intake of 90 students and Instrumentation Engineering with an intake of 30 students. The inaugural academic session commenced at its mentor institute Bakhtiyarpur Engineering College, Bakhtiyarpur, in the year 2019.

GEC Bhojpur boasts excellent facilities for technical studies and research, including high-speed Wi-Fi, 24-hour power supply with a generator backup as well as campus security, a modern library with a reading room, a computer center, an auditorium, a fully equipped mechanical workshop, modern laboratories, and separate hostels for male and female students.
